Daniel and Estela
Dardano in the city of London. Trip with
a spiritual apostolic objective and
with a specific purpose of the Lord: Scout the land, set foot on it and proclaim
about the land.
At the conclusion of the activities with the ministry team in the city of Lund, Sweden, Estela and I went to the city of London in England. We were there between the 6th and the 10th of December of 2010.
It was not a trip for tourism, rest or even to visit a place we had never been before. The reason for being in London had a spiritual, apostolic objective with a specific purpose given by the Lord. Scout the land, set foot on it, and declare it.
It is often said that God doesn’t operate with coincidences. Instead everything that comes from Him is the “effect” of a “cause” and has a purpose with a particular objective that will always give results. There is some important background information that would give shape to the concretion of the journey to London that is worth mentioning.
- FIRST ANTECEDENT: When Estela was approximately 14 years old living in Argentina, she had a sense of the Spirit of God in 3 countries: Mexico, Spain and England. We lived in Mexico a little more than 20 years. The Soto family is now residing in the city of Valencia, Spain to take the Gospel of the Kingdom to those that need it. We visited Spain the first few days of 2010. We had yet to set foot in England, something that we did on this trip.
- SECOND ANTECEDENT: In the year 2008, a time when the whole ministry team was present in a gathering in Mexico, Oscar and Maricel Viñas, gave an offering of 20 pounds, with clear prophetic direction from God. THIS OFFERING IS TO OPEN ENGLAND! We were convinced that it was and is to be.
- THIRD ANTECEDENT: A little more than 100 years ago, England sent out its missionaries to different countries of Latin America to spread the Gospel. Among those countries was Argentina where we had lived. Those men and women gave their lives for Christ and for those to whom they were proclaiming with love, the Word of the Lord. Many congregations had their beginnings in Argentina because of the work of these pioneers. The passion for God was evident among these divine messengers.
What is happening with England today in the 21st century? Where is the love for God, the passion, the urgency to “send out?” Shrouded in its world of protocol and deceived by its power, mentality and international leadership in many areas, it has gone its own way and has turned its back on God.
And so it was that we were informed of the sale of buildings that were used in the past as a place where the Church of Jesus Christ praised, worshipped and preached the message of the Gospel. Today, those buildings have been transformed into tourist attractions, amusement centers and used for all types of entertainment.
It’s not the sale of these buildings that is so worrisome, but it’s where the church of Jesus Christ is today along with the saved and redeemed that should be representing the King. There is pain the heart of God and in ours as well.
With a spiritual burden, heavenly expectations and a willingness to be instruments of God, we arrived in London. Traveling from the airport to the hotel, we could appreciate and ascertain the friendliness of the people; willing and helpful people. At all times, they helped us, not only with information but also in some cases helping us move our bags. This attitude of the people was a constant in the four days that we were there, contrary to the traditional and stereotypical opinion that the English are dry, cold, indifferent and unfriendly people. In all of this we saw the grace of God with us at all times.
London is a “gray” city, always cloudy where the sun rarely shines. People from many nations live there, for example people from India, Arabs, Romanians, Italians, Spanish and Africans.
We were able to “walk the streets” of London, travel in their majestic buses, and observe as much as we could, how the people are.

We had to make the most of the time and meet our spiritual goal. We needed to visit strategic places, set foot there, pray and declare in the name of the Lord, “to possess prophetically”. And so it was, among all the places, we were in:
This famous clock is world renowned. It has four faces and sits atop a tower of more than 100 meters (328 ft.). It represents the time of the country, known for its punctuality. On the base of the face of the clock, there is an inscription in latin that says: “God save our Queen Victoria” They say that it is the most representative monument of London.
It is well known that the monarchy does not exercise direct rule over the nation, instead giving the administrative authority to the prime minister. We had the opportunity to stand in front of his residency.
We had the opportunity to take a boat excursion along the River Thames. This is the river in England that connects London with the sea. The city of London was constructed along the shores of the River Thames by the Romans approximately in the year 43 A.D. The river divides the city between North and South and is also the supplier of water for the city. From the boat we could see the famous London Bridge.
It is situated in what was a palace in the 11th century. It is the political center where the House of Lords and House of Commons are.
This cathedral is Catholic. Its architectural design and materials with which it was constructed, is admirable. We walked in. It was somewhat empty. We had the opportunity to watch a chorus rehearsing for a Christmas concert.
Westminster Abbey is a gothic church and the traditional site for coronations, wedding, and burials of British Monarchs. The funeral of Princess Diana of Wales took place there. It was founded in the 10th century. In that era, the majority of the believers of Europe accepted the authority of the Roman Catholic Church and the pope. In the 16th century, the reformation with Martin Luther, introduced many changes within the organization and church services in all of Europe. The Church of England became independent from the Church of Rome but held on to much of its tradition. As time went by, they began to develop their own forms of worship, taking the Sacred Scripture and tradition as its authority. Westminster Abbey is regarded as the heritage of humanity.
We had the opportunity to see the building where the church ALL SOULS congregate that has been pastored by Dr. Stott for many years who also became chaplain of the queen of England. We met Dr. Scott in Mexico and wanted to say hello to him. As we were talking with the brothers and sisters that work in the office of the congregation, they commented that Pastor Stott is 89 years old and is in a retirement home. They continued to say that although he was still a member of the congregation, he no longer holds the pastorate. Dr. Stott was known in various countries in Latin America because of his writings. He wrote 40 books among those being:
* BASIC CHRISTIANITY. * CHRISTIAN COUNTER CULTURE.
* THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT. * THE NEW HUMANITY.
It is the official residence of Queen Isabel II.
It is a majestic building. This is where the historic changing of the guard takes place everyday witnessed by thousands of tourists. In an ordered and disciplined ceremony, the soldiers that are going to be relieved of their duties of securing the palace wait in the courtyard of the palace in perfect military formation to turn over their duties. Then the soldiers enter, some on foot, some on horseback with different musical bands providing the framework for an exciting ceremony.
Finally, the change of guard takes place inside the courtyard of the palace followed by the exit of the soldiers who were on duty for twenty-four hours.
There we had the opportunity to pray and declare the rule of Jesus Christ, the return of the English to God, and the power of the Gospel to work in the lives of all those who have repented and recognize that only in Him is there salvation.
The Lord has granted us the joy to give testimony of his love to one person in particular. We went into a store to make a purchase. The owner of the business (hispanic) assisted us. As the conversation with him unfolded he identified himself as someone who attended a Christian church carefully explaining that he liked it very much but felt uncomfortable when he was invited to commit himself to the church claiming that he was very busy and had no time. We made him see that “committing to the church” was not the most important thing but giving his life to Christ is. We asked him directly, ¿have you given your life to Christ? He told us “no”. In brief, we spoke to him about the love of Christ and the plan of salvation, and although he did not make a decision, we planted a seed. He said he would have to think about it.
We also had the opportunity to see a group of young people preaching the gospel and passing out literature to people who were passing by. We asked them if they were Christians and they told us they were. We thanked the Lord for the lives of these young people that were witnessing for Jesus Christ.
Also, we had occasion to see and hear in the corner to a "solitary preaching" for several minutes, shouting spoke to the people of the Lord. Do not quite understand what he said, but could tell that one of their expressions said: "The joy of the Lord is our strength."
We left London and traveled to Miami excited with joy in our hearts. As we were returning home we were hopeful because we know that England will one day return home as well; home to the house of Father God, whose arms of love are always open to shelter all those in that nation who are repentant and confess Jesus as Savior and Lord. And we know that not only England, but all of Europe and the world will be able to experience what was expressed by the prophet Isaiah: The LORD will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God. (Isaiah 52:10 NIV)
